It’s a jam packed term four here at Blackwood Church of Christ. Jot these dates in your diary and keep an eye on the Messenger for more information to come

Dawn to Dusk Prayer Room

Saturday 20th of November: 5:30am – 8:30pm

Before the silly season, take an hour out to come to the church and pray for your family, our community and our world. It’s our vision to see people abiding in Jesus, being transformed and acting in love. None of this happens without God, so let’s ask Him to bring it to be this Christmas.

Celebration Sunday

Sunday 21st of November: 10am

It’s been a wonderful (if slightly odd) year. We’ve encountered God, grown, cared for one another and learnt a little more about discerning the voice of God and responding to it. We’ll be celebrating all of that in this special service.

Half Yearly Meeting

Sunday 21st of November: 11:15am

Not just a business meeting – a time to thank God for what He has done in and through us and to seek Him for next year. All are welcome to attend

Advent Series: The Lies that Bind Us

28th of November – 19th of December

The truth of Christmas – the truth of Jesus – sets us free. But what does it set us free from? How do the lies that we live out bind us, and what is God doing about it? This advent sermon series will prepare us for the truth of Christmas.

Family Carols Service

Sunday 19th of December – 4pm

Carols, nativity plays, fun and games. Our carols service is open to absolutely everyone. Plan to come along yourself, invite friends and family. It’s not just for kids (it will be great for people with a church background or no background at all) and be ready for a great time.

Christmas Service

Saturday 25th of December – 9am

Even if they couldn’t tell you why, everyone knows there is something special about Christmas. Start the day with faith, hope, love and joy as we worship together.

Boxing Day Communion Service

Sunday 26th of December – 10am

Take a breath; you made it! Our Boxing Day Sunday service will be a relaxed affair this year – a chance to sit back and rest in God after the hustle and bustle of Christmas day. It will be a great chance to really process what Christmas is all about
